Overwiev
The PAT is an individual research task project that requires independent work from the individuals.
The Pat will be able to demonstrate the individual's ability to process and showcase his/her information
management skills as well as his/her ability to work with software application and technologies that
he/she has studied during the course
of the year. This will be proven through means of quality outputs that
meet
certain criteria.
This includes the following:
- Short Description of the task and problem
- Research focus question
- Set of high quality question
- A list of appropriate information sources?
- Information that has been shifted, evaluated and summarised
- A spreadsheet and database which reflects the management, processing and annalyses of data and information
- A report regarding the investigation
- A simlple website that conveys the information about the topic that was chosen by the individual
The PAT consists of three section namely:
- PAT Phase 1
- PAT Phase 2
- PAT Phase 3
This year's PAT
The topic for matric this year is the STEM-Problem. The STEM refers to Science,
Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.The task is to investigate the matter, find
possible underlying causes, gather and analyse data revelant to the problem, find possible solutions
and present the findings in a report so that it can be used by any organisation and even the government.
